A cooperative initiative that has been running since 2017, Fuel Good Day, has benefited community fire departments with ten cents a liter at the pump and BBQ revenue
UNITY–An annual initiative to benefit a community organization was held September 20 at Delta Co-op gas stations in Luseland, Macklin, Unity and Wilkie.
Fuel Good Day has been a co-operative initiative since its launch in 2017. For the 2022 event, Julie Spencer, communications and marketing manager for Delta Co-op, says, “Ten cents of every liter purchased at the pump will be donated.
In addition to the cents per liter donated, the Delta Co-op team hosted a BBQ with a Plinko game for fun. Funds raised from the BBQ will also be used for the community fire department donation.
Mother Nature didn’t provide a very accommodating time for the activity, but each community said support is what they’re used to when an event benefits a community cause. Fire department volunteers and Delta Co-op team members braved the elements and warmed up the experience with hot food and warm smiles.
All of the community fire departments in those locations said they were providing members and a truck to help promote and assist volunteers at the event. Additionally, all departments said that any funds they received from the program would be used for training, tools and equipment.
Each year, Delta Co-op selects a donation recipient for its Fuel Good Day event. “Our goal is to donate it to an organization that benefits the entire district and the Delta community.
